As noted by AllThingsD, New Yorkers will now have access to accurate arrival times for seven of the city’s subway lines as the Metropolitan Transit Agency today released a new app that provides access to the real-time train location data. Available on the App Store, the MTA Subway Time iPhone app is a test app released by the MTA for the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and S 42 Street Shuttle lines. It displays the same data as the countdown clocks inside stations, and the MTA will make the data available on its website for developers to use in third-party apps.

Cycloramic is the new app which uses your iPhone's vibration and sensors to rotate itself and take a 360-degree video. It's amazing to see in action—and Woz loves it so much that a video he shot using it has appeared on Facebook.
Woz emailed the video to the guys at Cycloramic, who posted it on their Facebook page. Apparently he told the developers that the app was "unexpected, fanciful and useful all at the same time"—which we kind of agree with. Also, you get to see inside Woz's kitchen. Check it out below.

Apple and Samsung have been raging a legal war against each other across the globe. While Apple won a $1 billion lawsuit against Samsung in the U.S. earlier this year, the two giants have exchanged blows in Europe as well, but neither side has come out on top yet.
However, a new report claims that Samsung might be facing a serious blow from the European commission that is seeking to impose some huge fines on Samsung for trying to get Apple products banned in Europe.

Even with Apple’s launch of the fourth-generation iPad last month, Apple is rumored to be preparing to launch yet another new iPad in the coming months. According to Macotakara, a thinner, lighter version of the iPad with 9.7-inch display is due in March 2013.
According to my inside source, iPad(5th) may be released in March, 2013. Source told that, design of this new iPad will be like iPad mini in detail, and be thinner and lightweight. (The expectation comes to have a small 4mm in height, 17mm in width, depth 2mm).

Instagram’s iOS app has been updated to v3.4.0. It fixes a few ridiculous omissions from the last version, and adds a new filter, no doubt as a way to get users to shut up about the Terms of Service debacle.
The new filter is called Mayfair, and is no compensation for those still hurting from the removal of the excellent Gotham filter, back in the day. It adds extra contrast, makes people’s skin look a bit redder and everything else a little greener. It’s a perfectly nice filter, but doesn’t add much to the app.
What does add something to the app is the new album picker. The last update to Instagram added a great new way to browse

It's been a long time coming, but Tumblr has announced an update to its iOS app that finally makes it compatible with iPad and iPad mini.
Built for the big screen, the app uses a sidebar for navigation—something you'll be used to from Facebook—and a new radial menu for selecting post types. There're other features, sure—quick re-blogging, neat pinch-to-zoom tricks, and general speediness thanks to being coded natively for iOS—but the real benefit is the fact that you no longer have to use a scaled-up version of the iPhone app.
How come it took so long? Apparently, Tumblr was keen to only roll out an iPad app which was coded up

The excellent Autostitch Panorama app is now available for the iPad, and it is as fantastic as ever. Unlike Apple’s own implementation of iOS panoramas on the iPhone 5, the Autostitch app does things the old-fashioned way, quilting together a patchwork of separate images.
This has some advantages.
Panorama for iPad lets you shoot a panorama direct to the app, or import already-shot photos, even those from regular digital cameras. This means that you aren’t limited to long rectangular results like you are with Apple’s version. To be sure, the iOS pano function is great, but Panorama (the app) still has its place.

On top of noting work to take advantage of Quickoffice conversion technology in Google Docs, Google is launching a free version of the QuickOffice iPad app exclusively for Google Apps for Business customers today. Walmart is continuing to slash price tags on Apple products this holiday season, as the global retailer just announced it is now offering the 16GB iPhone 5 for $127.

Developers simply upload a zipped version of their app (no SDKs or changing code), and the service spits out a link to a private test page displaying an interactive, HTML5 and CSS version of the app controllable by mouse and keyboard in portrait or landscape. Testers will also be able to leave feedback and interact with testers in a comments section on the page. Kickfolio has an example of an the Angry Bots iOS app from Unity Technologies on its website here.

T-Mobile USA has announced that it has struck an agreement with Apple to begin supporting Apple products in 2013. Deutsche Telecom Rene Obermann made the announcement to analysts today.
The company also confirmed the announcement in a press release today:

Deutsche Telecom also notes that this new agreement with Apple would affect the company’s cash flow:

Google has updated its web experience for U.S. iPad users that are searching for local places on Google Search, including bars and restaurants. The Mountain View-based company is calling the new feature a “horizontal carousel” of results that will be displayed at the top of page, while normal search results will also be displayed below.
