Apple Could Build Its Products in the U.S. and Still Make Tons of Cash You know how Apple makes most of its gear in far-off lands where the people that build them make shamefully little? We always assumed that it had to be like that for Apple to run a successful business. Turns out, that's not the case at all.
A new study from the University of Manchester's Center for Research on Socio-Cultural Change claims that even if Apple shifted all of its manufacturing over to the U.S. it would still maintain gross margins of 50 percent. In other words, it would be creating tens of thousands of jobs, boosting the U.S. economy, and it would still be making boat loads of cash. Sounds like a good deal all around, right?

Or you can use a grid spot, an excellent tool for pointing your light at one single spot, far away, with a sharp fall-off into shadows at the edges. Sound expensive? It can be, unless you steal some drinking straws from your local fast food emporium and follow along with this how-to.

Before the ITC actually goes so far as blocking the import of Apple products, however, the ruling is subject to review by the commission. While the Phoenix Suns decided earlier this month to purchase Samsung’s Galaxy Tab for interactive playbooks, a report from Denver Post this morning detailed the Denver Bronco’s decision to switch its 500-page playbooks to iPad versions.

A $0.99 iOS app has surfaced over the weekend in the App Store called “TV English Premium.” The universal app allows anyone to stream 55 premium TV channels live without paying for a subscription. An iPhone or iPad also does not need to be jailbroken to stream for free. For only $0.99, you can have access to many BBC and premium U.S. TV channels in HD on your iOS device.

The company, which originally developed its technology for museum exhibits in the 1990s, is seeking an “injunction enjoining Apple from continued infringement, and an award of damages to compensate Flatworld” for the millions of iOS devices and MacBooks using its technology.
